We know the Easter story so well we can lose much of the awe, wonder and even holy fear which the first eyewitnesses to the resurrection experienced. As Mark 16:8 reminds us "they were afraid!"

Jesus forgiving His enemies brings us forgiveness. So we must in turn forgive others.

We prepare for Easter by remembering the Exodus and the Passover - escape from death, escape from slavery, escape into the Promised Land.

Some people expect spectacular growth and constant victory. But don't be discouraged if your life and your church don't seem to be like that.

Jesus teaches about mustard seeds and yeast (Matthew 13:31-33) and seeds growing secretly (Mark 4:26-29) and the seed which has to die before there is any crop (John 12:23-25). That is how the kingdom grows!

Does God still want us to write off debts after seven years as Deuteronomy 15 commands?

Should we give to anybody who asks us, and lend without expecting to get anything back as Jesus commands in Luke 6:30 and 35?

Of course we should!
